Could it be the threat of possible lawsuits regarding malignant mesothelioma?

Here is an excerpt from his letter regarding the closure
What follows below is the fax/letter sent to dozens of surfboard manufacturers from Gordan 'Grubby' Clark, patriarch of the surfboard industry, explaining his decision to call it quits.-- Editor Scott Bass

For owning and operating Clark Foam I may be looking at very large fines, civil lawsuits, and even time in prison. I will not be saying more than is in this letter so I hope you read it carefully. I do not want to be answering questions about my decisions for the next few years.

Effective immediately Clark Foam is ceasing production and sales of surfboard blanks.

I would like to give a lot more details but keep in mind that I may have both fines and criminal charges pending at this time or in the future. Therefore I have been advised by my attorney to say as little as possible. I do not want this document to be used as an admission of wrongdoing nor am i going to help the government prosecute me. I do, however, feel I owe everyone some sort of explanation- even if it is incomplete and not a full disclosure of my problems.

Tim Gilberg

Here is another great way to earn extra income using Ebay with very little up front money or effort. I have had several of my students concentrate solely on this money maker. Tickets for concerts, sporting events, airlines, etc. are always in demand and are super hot-selling items on eBay.
Due to the fact that you have a computer with internet access, you have a huge advantage over any traditional ticket broker. By using eBay, you can easily liquidate these tickets at a very nice profit without having to use any of the shady techniques of these brokers. Have you ever wondered when you attended a sold out concert or event where the scalpers got their tickets? Ticket brokers often employ homeless or jobless people off the street and give them a few dollars to sit in line for days for ticket placement. In return, these brokers would receive very good seats and make hundreds of dollars per transaction.

I have had students clear over $1,000/month using the following technique to jump to the front of the line. The first step is to go to ticketmaster dot com and become a member. It is free. Once you are a member you will be notified of pre-sale opportunities in which you can purchase these very hard to get tickets. You need to log on immediately and place your order the minute the internet sale goes online. Normally, the maximum amount of tickets you can buy is six per transaction. Once you have placed your order you will receive confirmation of your seat number assignment at which point you can list them for sale on eBay.

Many people use inexpensive classified ads to purchase hot selling items on eBay. You can also use the classified ad technique to locate airline reward tickets or hot concert events which you can then sell on eBay for double or triple your investment.

This technique is called “flipping”. You are buying a ticket and immediately reselling for a nice profit.

Note: Regarding concert tickets, please do your research prior to buying to make sure the concert is highly sought after and going to be sold out in order to maximize your profits. This is not mandatory because you can still sell tickets for a good profit even if the event is not sold out; but you will maximize your investment if the tickets are highly sought after.

In conclusion, join the eBay “Ticket Gold Rush”. There is a never ending group of people who want the best seats and are willing to pay a premium for them. Selling tickets on eBay is a great way to supplement your income with minimal risk.

Tim Gilberg is able to provide information and insight from a unique perspective - that of someone who is actually doing what others just talk about. Ebay Power Seller Platinum Status was Attained by Tim Gilberg, which is one of the highest sales levels attained selling on eBay. Tim is active on Ebay and liquidation.com as well as consulting and working with other Top ebay Power Seller's to give you real life in use insight, not theories.

Tim Gilberg

Come with me, we are going to take a safari into the jungles of eBay selling, sometimes wrought with danger but most often rewarded with treasure.

Beware of non-paying bidders, beware of auction snipers waiting to try and steal your eBay auction at a very low bid, but welcome the loot you will receive selling outdated relics in your house for a small kings ransom.

Sell the heirlooms that even Salvation Army drop off center would turn their nose up at.

Upon our journey we may encounter savvy eBay buyers lurking in the Internet shadows and waiting to pounce like a ravenous lion on novice eBay sellers.

Slashing and cutting your path through the eBay sales jungle is no small undertaking, let me be your guide through this sometimes-perilous journey.

Remember the moose head that was the family joke when we went to visit grandpa Jim at the cabin every fall. The very same moose head that now sits front and center in our family room. As this was the sum total of our inheritance as our dear grandpa passed last spring. Putting Old Grandpa Jims moose head up for sale and successfully selling it to a corn farmer from Iowa for $300 was nothing short of a revelation.

Not only did the moose head eBay sale fulfill the farmer’s dream of a big game trophy without firing a shot, but also it unloaded from our hands an item that was flat out rejected by our local charities.

After dropping the monstrous 400-pound beasts head at the UPS packing store counter my brother and I exchanged high fives.

We could only think of 1 word that would adequately describe the value of selling on eBay to our household PRICELESS!

One early Saturday morning, I was being dragged unmercifully by my mother to some local garage sales. Fumbling around in a near incoherent state I spotted on old wooden hand crank phone, it was marked for sale at $30 being in a fowl mood I haggled the sheepish sellers down to $10. Upon placing the old wooden hand crank phone up for sale on eBay a bidding war broke out on the old antique phone, even I was amazed at the final sales price of over $650.

On vacation with his wife and needing to kill some time as his spouse was getting her nails done, Robert wandered into thrift store that was located next door.

Robert spotted on the wall and old looking parchment with what looked top be foreign handwriting of some kind the document was priced at only $8 so Robert snatched up what he thought to be a valuable treasure.

Robert was a certified pack rat according to his wife, returning next store his jubilation turned to dismay as his wife slowly shook her head with disgust as looked at the item he just purchased. She demanded he get rid of it immediately. Robert dejectedly took it home and decided to put it for sale on eBay. His wife’s displeasure turned to glee as the $8 thrift shopped document item ended up selling for the ridiculous price of $2600.

Your Ebay selling safari can begin at your very doorstep

Look through you home for virtually any item you can live without There are quite literally rivers of diamonds flowing through your attic or garage.

Ebay has proven time and time again that one mans junks is another mans treasure so do not assume that your cracked Gia pet sitting on the back shelf of you closet will not make a woman in Kentucky’s Gia pet colletion complete

There are some pitfalls and sand traps when selling on eBay

Beware of The dubious and cunning eBay sniper

The eBay sniper is a much feared eBay buyer; these villains have automated computer programs that will allow them to shoot a last second bid on sellers who have not priced their auction item correctly

The Ebay sniper is a buyer who preys on the new eBay seller. They look for mistakes such as misspellings in the title of the eBay or listed in the wrong category these simple mistake keep sellers away from your auctions allowing the sniper to target your auction and snipe it with a last second bid for a mere fraction of its value

There is another vaunted creature that is the scourge to eBay sellers.

The most hated creature in the eBay selling jungle. It is the NON Paying Bidder, these hyena like animals turn tale and run the minute you ask them to pay for the auction they just won. The non paying bidders are click happy creatures who often develop an acute sense of buyers remorse just minutes after winning you auction item. They have the ability to come up with a dizzying array of excuses as to why the cannot send payment such as their cat walking on the computer keyboard and inadvertently placing a bid on your item for sale.

Defeating the NON Paying Bidder:

It is quite simple, click on Ebay help button and enter the users Id, after 3 non paying bidder attempts the user will be sent to exile never allowed to roam the eBay jungle again.

Explore your house and unearth hidden items that you cannot quite bear to put in the trash but with eBay you can quickly convert to cash.

Farm the river of diamonds available to you from household relics, to your local thrift stores.

Keep an eagles eye out for any distinctive or one of a kind items you may purchase cheaply. As the path through the Ebay selling jungle becomes clear, you will be rewarded with sales and increased space in your home. Using this online marketplace to eliminate unwanted clutter and turn it into cash is the treasure at the end of our great journey through the eBay wilds.

Tim Gilberg!

If you think running your own business is too difficult, think again!
